Prayer for the New Year

God we thank you for the year just past,
For the good times and bad,
We thank you for your mercy and your grace,
That tempers memories of the sad.

Now grant us wisdom for the coming year,
Obedient minds that listen still,
Trusting hearts that conquer fear,
Steadfast love to do Thy will.
