Imperfections & Failures

My imperfections and failures are as much a blessing from God as my successes and my talents, and I lay them both at His feet.  (Mahatma Gandhi in Courage to Change, 23 Feb)My imperfections and failures are as much a blessing from God as my successes and my talents, and I lay them both at His feet. Answered Prayers

Some prayers are followed by silence because they are wrong, others because they are bigger than one can understand.  It will be a wonderful moment for some of us when we stand before God and find that the prayers we clamored for in early days and imagined were never answered, have been answered in the most amazing way, and that God's silence has been the sign of the answer.  (Oswald Chambers, Daily Thoughts for Disciples, p. 75)

God Is Healing Me

God is healing me.  My belief in God's healing power soothes me and opens me to complete healing.  (Daily Word for Healing, Colleen Zuck, et al., p. 55)

A Good Idea

This is me in front of a U.S. Army Lighter Amphibious Resupply Cargo (LARC) at Fort Story, VA.  Fort Story is located on Cape Henry near Virginia Beach, VA.  When I was in the Army I was company commander of the 347th Transportation Company at Fort Story.  This was our mission vehicle.

This is my first attempt at putting an image into my blog.

It is always a good idea to do what is pleasing to God!  (Dan R. Dick, Devotions for Dieters, 25 November)

Grant Unto Me

Grant unto me the seeing eye, that I may see the beauty in common things ... and that I may know that each age from first to last is good in itself and may be lived, not only well, but happily.  (Edmund Sanford in Mental Growth and Decay, found in Aging Well by George E. Vaillant, p.  307)

I'm Back

Hello, everyone.  In September 2006 the computer I was using to access the Internet took a lightning hit.  I decided I'd take a break from using computers so much rather than buy another computer.  I decided to send and receive Email from the closest branch of the county library.  Until recently this has worked reasonably well.  Once in a while I also stopped at KMart to use their computers.

This week I got some advice at a computer store which allowed me to fix a mouse problem with a Dell laptop computer that I received as a gift.  Now, after spending just $14.00 on a optical mouse that connects to the USB port I'm back online.

I plan to resume making updates to this Blog from time to time.
