We consider our plans for the day.
Before we begin, we ask God to direct our thinking especially asking that it be divorced from self-pity, dishonest or self-seeking motives.
(Daily Reflections, 12 March)
Be true to your convictions.
You know what is right, and you know what is wrong.
You know when you are doing the proper thing.
You know when you are giving strength to the right causes.

Lord, the beauty of Your creation fills me up.
You have given me a sacred gift of a day, and

God, bless all the fathers in the world.
Guide them to be good role models and loving to all their children.
Help them to be a father like You are.
Give them grace and patience to handle situations in a loving way.

born in a land of great diversity.
From sea to pines, from sand to water,
Your creation is awesome to me.
Thank You for the friendliness of Americans.
Their smiles for strangers on the street; their love of new and different things as well as the honor they have for tradition.
You have given a refugee land enough space to be independent and a strong enough government to keep us together.
For this freedom I humbly say, Thank You.

Pray with them.
Pray for them and bless them.
The world into which they are moving is a complex and difficult world.
They will run into heavy seas of adversity.
They will need all the strength and all the faith you can give them.
They must lift their world, and the only levers they will have are the examples in their own lives and the powers of persuasion that will come of your testimonies and your knowledge of the things of God.

This makes it difficult to stay in the present and I start living simultaneously in the past and the future.
The outcomes of the past get projected onto present and future situations.
I become trapped in hopelessness and find it difficult to make healthy decisions.
(Hope For Today, 6 June)
Lord, help me to rejoice in the time I have with my family today.
I don't want to dwell on what might happen in the future;
I want to relish this chance to nurture and cherish the blessings You've given me. Amen.
