Spiritual Development
Spiritual development is achieved by daily persistence in living the way you believe God wants you to live. ... Never falter in this daily effort, but go forward boldly and unafraid. (Alan L. Roeck, Look to This Day, 25 Mar)

Journal Anniversary
Yesterday I forgot to write about the fact that 24 Mar 2008 was the fourth anniversary of the creation of this Arrow Prayers journal. For many months while I was without a computer that could access the Internet I didn't post anything. I'm happy to report that the laptop computer I've been using lately is working reasonably well.
I'm somewhat surprised that I maintained my interest in posting prayers for as long as I have.
If you have found something useful in my journal I hope that the words have blessed you as much as they have blessed me.

Print or Save
Can I "Print" or "Save" From an AOL Journal (Blog)?
If you read something in an AOL journal can you "print" or "save" from the journal? The answer is "yes." However, you may not want to do this. Be aware that a single journal entry you are reading isn't the only one that will print. You might use much more paper and ink than you planned because all of the entries that you can scroll on the screen will go to the printer. That's what happened when I tried the "print" option. I printed eight pages when I wanted to print just one.
Here's a way to avoid this problem. To print or save a single journal entry you will need to use "copy and paste." First, use the mouse to select the text you'd like to print or save, then click "edit" and then "copy." That will put a copy of what you want on the clipboard. Then use your word processor or favorite text editor to "paste" from the clipboard. Next, you can "save" or "print" the file from the word processor or editor.
I hope this information will be helpful if you find something of interest in an AOL journal.
Extinction
Compared to rocks or to termites or ginkgo trees, our whole species is a very recent passenger on this Spaceship Earth. We've had a busy time of it, for the few thousand years that there have been enough of us to make a difference. But in time as geologists measure it we have barely entered the history of the planet.
If we eradicated ourselves with the lethal means at our disposal, we wouldn't be the first species to disappear. But wouldn't it be a shame? We humans have the capacity for transcendence as well as destruction. Surely we're adaptable enough to guide our own development away from our current preoccupation with deadly toys.
Written history gives us just a tiny glimpse of life on earth. Let's live so as to guarantee that human existence lasts out its full chapter

Mychal's Prayer
Lord, take me where You want me to go; let me meet whom You want me to meet; tell me what you want me to say, and keep me out of your way.
