The Christian's Journey

The Christian's journey is a series of steps in Christ-likeness.
Are you more like Jesus today than yesterday?
Are you pressing on?
Does your life now demonstrate the
love, joy, and peace of Jesus
more than it did a year ago?
Today find a way to be a little more like the Savior
as you press,
step by step,
toward the goal.
(David Jeremiah, Journey, 17 November)

Lord, a brand new year is before me. I offer myself to You and ask You to guide me during this year ahead.  Work through me, Lord; guide my steps, lead my way and inspire my words so others see You through me. And, Lord, no matter what lies ahead for me this year, I want to pray without ceasing, love my fellow men and honor You with my heart and soul. Amen.

Your Destination

Lord, help me to see the joy in the journey, instead of thinking it exists only at the destination.

Spiritual Journey

Aldous Huxley

"The spiritual journey does not consist in arriving at a new destination where a person gains what he did not have, or becomes what he is not. It consists in the dissipation of one's own ignorance concerning one's self and life, and the gradual growth of that understanding which begins the spiritual awakening. The finding of God is a coming to one's self."
(Aldous Huxley in The Power Of Intention by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer, p. 18)

Welcoming The New Year

Higher Power

Realizing that nothing can hurt me while I lean upon my Higher Power, I ask to be guided through the minutes and hours of each day. Let me remind myself to bring every problem to Him for I know He will show me the way I must go. (One Day At A Time In Al-Anon, 1 January)

Mission Statement

One of the most powerful and influential leaders of all time articulated his Mission Statement in a single sentence two thousand years ago:
I came that they might have life, and have it more abundantly.
(Laurie Beth Jones, The Path, p. xi)

Beginning The Journey

As you begin your journey into the next year, take time each day to remember your Creator, to read His Word, to consider all that He has done for you. (David Jeremiah, introduction to Journey)

The Journey's End

Spend your brief moment according to nature's law, and serenely greet the journey's end as an olive falls when it is ripe, blessing the branch that bore it, and giving thanks to the tree that gave it life. (Marcus Aurelius, quoted in A Little Book of Life and Death) 19 April 2012

Crossroads And Roadblocks

... when we reach a crossroads or a roadblock, we know that our Higher Power will come to our aid in making the right choices and surmounting all obstacles. (Twenty-Four Hours A Day, 29 February 2012)

I've found that you can't draw road maps for the Lord. I've tried that before. (Janice Clark, in Keepers Of The Wisdom by Karen Casey, 28 February)

How would your telling the story of your journey change if you viewed it as a demonstration of God's blessing you all along the way, as an expression of providential care for the whole creation? (The Upper Room Disciplines - 2008, 4 June)

I pray that I'll continue to seek guidance as my spiritual journey continues today. (Twenty-Four Hours A Day, 29 February 2012) 29 February 2012

Spiritual Journey

Spiritual Journey

Wherever my spiritual journey leads, I know I can count on You, Lord. Though storms blow, You'll never desert me. (Toni Sortor and Pamela McQuade, The Word On Life, 24 August)
