Death

We fear death because we lose so much by dying. We lose the people we love, our wives and husbands, our children, our friends. We lose our work, our games, our art, all the things we did that gave us gladness. (Lewis B. Smedes, A Pretty Good Person, p. 37)

Fill us with hope, Lord, trusting that
the dying leaves on earth's cold floor
will resurrect and green the trees once more.
