Lord, what are the patterns in my life that keep me trapped, unable to move freely?
Please help me find and release all old beliefs, attitudes, and habits that keep me in a state of dis-ease.

Spiritual Progress

Coneflowers attract yellow finch pair to our yard.
The birds are two shy to allow me to get a photo.

Our worth and our spiritual progress do not rest on warm feelings and God-given comforts, but rather on patiently enduring great challenges and trials.

Dear Lord, help us to remember that every day is cause for celebration. Today we will try our best to keep joy in our hearts., We will celebrate the life You have given us here on earth and the eternal life that will be ours in heaven. Amen.

In Hope

In hope we pray!
Come to us, O Lord!
In our sorrow and our joy!
In our emptiness and our hope!
In our life and in our death!

Lord, may grace make possible what my nature seems to make impossible. You know how little I am able to suffer and how quickly I collapse when the slightest adversity rears its head.

Backyard Iris - photo by Mr. Dickie

I pray to accept, with a serene mind, the things I cannot change, knowing it is futile to be obstinate about the inevitable. I pray to be resolute to take action in things that must be changed.

Come To The Lord

Melva' Orchids - Photo by Mr. Dickie

In the midst of anxious conflict, we can come to the Lord in prayer. He is able to give us serenity to accept the things we cannot change, courage to change the things we can, and wisdom to know the difference.

Start Your Day

Do you start your day by saying, "Good Lord, it's morning" or by saying "Good morning, Lord?"

Anger and Bitterness

Heavenly Father free me from anger and bitterness. When I am angry, I cannot feel the peace that You intend for my life.  When I am bitter, I cannot sense Your presence. Keep me mindful that forgiveness is Your commandment. Let me turn away from bitterness and instead claim the spiritual abundance that You offer through the gift of Your son. Amen.

I pray to be led into a new way of thinking about the difficulties I have to face.

A new point of view will put them into perspective and reduce them to manageable size.

I pray especially to resist exaggerating my troubles until they overwhelm me.
